

The single Get The Balance Right!, released in January 1983 did not feature on the original album. A second single Love, In Itself was also lifted from the album reaching no.21 in the UK. The release of Construction Time Again was preceded by the single Everything Counts, which reached no.6 in the UK, while the album itself also reached no.6 in the UK chart, staying in the Top 40 for 10 weeks. Gore, while The Landscape Is Changing and Two Minute Warning which were written by Wilder. Of the nine tracks on the album, seven were written by Martin L. It was produced by Daniel Miller and Depeche Mode, with engineer Gareth Jones credited as 'Tonmeister'. The album was recorded at John Foxx's The Garden studios in London and mixed at Hansa Mischraum in Berlin (then West Berlin).

It was the group's second album since the departure of Vince Clarke and the first to feature Alan Wilder as full band member. It was released on Mute records on 22 August 1983. Construction Time Again is the title of the third studio album by British group Depeche Mode.
